Project concept — designed to show an approach, not a delivered client project
The problem
The old site buried the menu in a PDF, had no mobile layout, and didn't show the room or the food. People couldn't tell what kind of place it was before deciding to come in.
What a site like this needs to do
- Show the menu as real, readable text — not a PDF download
- Make hours, location, and reservations reachable in one tap
- Set the tone of the room before someone walks in
- Load fast on a phone with one bar of signal
The approach
Most people decide whether to try a restaurant on their phone, standing on the sidewalk or sitting on the couch. The old site made that call harder than it needed to be. The menu was a PDF that pinched and zoomed. There were no photos of the dining room. Nothing about the site told you whether this was a white- tablecloth place or a spot for a quick plate of pasta.
The concept rebuilds the site around that first decision. The menu is real text, laid out to read cleanly at any size and easy for the kitchen to update when a dish changes. Large photography carries the feel of the room and the food. Hours, address, and a reservation button follow you down the page so the next step is always one tap away.
Everything is tuned to load quickly on a weak connection, because that is exactly when someone is deciding where to eat.
